It’s been long overdue since we have updated our blog. We apologize for those of you that check back waiting for something new to be posted. We will do our best to keep this more current.
The year of 2013 was full of some staff changes. Tony, Vicki (our daughter) and their children–Raygen 4 and Weston 1 1/2, moved back to our home state of Wisconsin. They are enjoying the snowy weather and have started a great husband/wife photography business—Tony Just Photography, that has really taken off for them. Although we miss their faces at the ranch, we have some great new staff that have blended in nicely to our program. Since Tony is no longer here as our cook, my brother Randy is back at the ranch doing all the home cookin’. He was with us for the first 9 years of operation, then left to pursue his own interests. We are happy to have his wonderful cooking back and his fun antics during game night. Another new face, Allan is our “all around guy”. He greets our guests, and is often found washing dishes in the kitchens. He pitches in wherever he’s needed. We have welcomed a new family at the ranch, the Westmoreland’s. Tex is one of our wranglers, while his wife Jenny assists with housekeeping and cooking. They have two wonderful children, Levi and Shelby, that love interacting with the guests. Another wrangler Cody has been added to our staff this summer, as well as his dog Clyde. Craig is still our head wrangler and has been large part of the ranch and riding program for countless years. We love all of our staff and the care they give our guests.
We’ve had a busy busy season full of family reunions and wonderful holiday gatherings. Our favorite school group from Atlanta has returned for their 12th annual two week school trip in January. This special group took many side trips to the glass Skywalk of the west rim of the Grand Canyon (only 2 1/2 hours from the ranch), the old gold mining town of Oatman (1 hour 15 minutes away) and a few days in Tombstone.
We thank all of our returning guests that continue to come back year after year and we welcome all the new guests becoming part of our ranch family. We look forward to another relaxing year in the saddle and hope to see y’all kicking up some dust in your cowboy boots in 2014!
