The newest cowgirl has arrived

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Raygen Lynn was born on Wednesday morning, February 10th, to Dan & Carrie’s daughter Vicki and her husband Tony.  She was 8 pounds 14 ounces and 19 inches long.  Both mommy and baby are doing great and arrived back at the ranch.  Everyone is overjoyed and Carrie is itching to put her on a horse already.  Congratulations!

A GIRL!!  Vicki and Tony are set to welcome a little cowgirl to the ranch family mid February.  They’d like to thank all the family, friends and guests for their prayers during this joyous time.  She’ll be out riding horses when she is 4 months like her cousin Sophie! Everyone can’t wait!

Another little addition to the ranch family is on the way….

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Dan and Carrie’s daughter, Vicki and her husband Tony, are pleased to announce they are expecting a baby on February 13, 2010.  The little cowgirl or cowboy will be the couple’s first child and Dan and Carrie’s second grandchild.  Everyone is very excited for another little one running around the ranch.  Although Jeremy, Jodi and Sophie (now almost 20 months) are back in Wisconsin, they do come and visit the ranch often and can’t wait for Sophie to have a little cousin to play with.  God’s blessings to the expectant couple!

Jodi, Sophie and Peggy visiting again

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Jodi and Sophie (Dan & Carrie’s daughter-in-law and their granddaughter) are heading back to STGR tomorrow.  Jodi and Sophie stopped out for a short visit in August after moving back to Wisconsin with Dan & Carrie’s son Jeremy.  They will be visiting for a week this time.  Peggy (Carrie’s childhood friend), who lives visits the ranch about 4 or 5 times a year, will be out at the ranch tomorrow for another month long visit.  We welcome the girls back with open arms.  We have missed them.

For past guests that are looking for an updated picture of Sophie, we have included a shot of her in her GreenBay Packers cheerleading outfit.  She will be 9 months old on Friday. She is saying “Mama” and “Papa”(which is what we have been calling Jeremy), as well as crawling, pulling herself up and crawling up the stairs.  She can wave and do a high-five.  She is great and we can’t wait to have her back for a week long visit.

Happy Mothers Day!

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

A well deserved Happy Mothers Day to all of you out there! We had a great one here as Sophie rolled completely over for the 1st time! She did it in room #8 while cleaning today and was a real Mothers Day treat for Jodi and Grandma. We even had the video camera on hand to catch it on tape.

Also Trey finally won his 1st horseshoe tournament with his partner Gloria (7th time returning), a well deserved win as they beat me and my partner Katja from Germany in a close championship match of 11 – 6.

The weather has been great with some days in the upper 80’s and some in the 90’s. We will probably be switching to our early-summer riding schedule soon with 1 ride before breakfast and 1 ride after breakfast. The afternoon rides will go out a little bit later as well to accommodate the heat.

Even though it is Mothers Day I wanted to post this pic I took of Daddy (Jeremy) and Sophie at sunset. To achieve the same effect when you are at the ranch just set your camera to manual mode if possible. Wait until sunset when you can achieve a very hight contrast. Then choose the fastest speed, usually in the thousandths of a second (2000-4000) and then choose the lowest ISO rating (50-100). Then get really low to the ground with the subject above as much of the horizon as possible and snap away.

Sophie is 3 Months Old!

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Sophie turned 3 months on the 10th of April and she is growing up fast. She even got to go on a vacation when we traveled back to WI for a cousins wedding. In WI she actually rolled but has not repeated it again since returning to Arizona?

Jodi’s due date is January 10th and everything is going very smoothly so far. We do not know if we are having a boy or girl as we are saving that moment for the delivery room.
